Colorado – Sunrise and Sunsets

The last few days of my recent Colorado trip continued with more spectacular sunrises and sunsets with many breathtaking scenes with stunning fall color.

I was so excited to get to Crested Butte because it is a town that has many interesting shops and the streets have that early western feel. The store fronts are charming and the restaurants are unique.

In the evening we photographed a farm house. Farms are becoming scarce in the area of Crested Butte. Ski resorts are crowding them out.

That evening we were able to photograph a spectacular sunset. Some of the golden aspen trees had turned to orange.

Everywhere you look at this time of year you can find aspen trees which frame a beautiful view.

Aspens make for an interesting photograph when you are looking to create abstract art. For the following image, I held the camera in one hand and the telephoto lens in the other. I twisted the telephoto lens to create the impression of the land and trees moving.

My last picture is of the Muddy Creek Slump. Its an area of the West Elk Loop Overlook which was a must stop in our travels in and around the Rocky Mountains of Colorado.

In the backcountry of Colorado, there are photographs everywhere you turn.

Can’t wait to go back!

My gear on this trip was Nikon Camera, 24-70mm lens, RRS tripod.
