Blog#90 – Sunflowers and Photodrones

While I was in Botany Bay (no, I’m not talking about Australia) I noticed a field of sunflowers on the right of the access road. The garden was huge and in full bloom. And even though it was hot and the sun was getting higher, I had to capture the stunning yellow against the deep blue sky.

One of the other photographers, Kate Silvia, had a new toy that she was using. It was a drone with a camera which she controlled remotely – a photodrone (my word). As the drone flew over the sunflower fields the image appeared on her iPad. I saw the picture that she took from above and it was an overhead view of the field, exactly what you would expect. Unfortunately, I don’t have a picture of the field as she took it. You’ll just have to use your imagination. But the photodrone has endless possibilities.

Sunflowers always brighten my mood so here are a couple of sunflower images.
