Before I get into the color of fall in North Carolina this week I thought I would talk about the color I found in a little corner of Nantucket, MA last summer.
Nantucket is an island of the coast of Massachusetts, actually near Cape Cod. I was there for my nephew, John Woodburn’s wedding to Laura at the White Elephant. Afterward, their honeymoon was in an area of Nantucket that bubbles over with charm. I had the opportunity to spend a few days there and, of course, photograph the charm.
The area that I photographed was called ‘Siasconset’ called ‘Sconset’.
The day I was there in late spring, the flowers were abundant and absolutely drooping off of the eaves of the houses, sky was a deep blue and there was a slight balmy breeze. The scenes could absolutely take your breath away.
Next week I will be photographing fall color in the Blue Ridge Parkway area of western North Carolina. I’m looking forward to the same kind of glorious color as I found in Nantucket.
