My Neighborhood – Week#4 Photo Challenge

This week my photo challenge was to photograph my neighborhood and post three of them here. I have added a fourth image just for kicks.

Our Community has access to Lake Wylie, a man-made lake formed when dams were built on the Catawba River. For most of the 5+ years we have lived here, I have walked next to Lake Wylie and it has changed/evolved here where we live. The river was dredged, boat docks and  boat ramps were built. The water looks better. It’s not perfect but the water quality is better than it was. Five years ago, the water was brown and not very deep. I would observe a lone Heron patrolling the waterway.

Now, there are more birds. The following image was taken early in January 2015 on a foggy day just after sunrise.

There is something so peaceful about the water. You have the opportunity to have the lake all to yourself if you go photographing early in the morning just after sunrise. Here is an extra image from the morning photo shoot.

Next blog: Town/City photos. If you are following along on the challenge, take photos in your City/Town and post 3 of the best to my Facebook page or email me: phyllis@pdpetersonphoto.com/blog.
