This week my photo challenge was to photograph in my yard and post three of them to the blog.
I call this picture “Determination” because it represents holding on against all odds. It’s fun to ascribe an emotion to an image. Plus, I added a filter to the photo to reduce the impact of the background branches which were distracting. The filter I used was one of the Totally Rad Dirty Pictures filters.
The next photo is of one of the first frosts we had here in North Carolina in 2015. Since it is mid-January when this photo was taken, frost makes ordinary outdoor special because of the beautiful designs on leaves.
Lastly, I have a wonderful bird feeder and the birds are so excited when I keep the feeder stocked. Here is one visitor. Looked him up in my Sibley’s Field Guide to Birds of Eastern North America and I think he is a House Finch. I’m new to bird identification so if anyone has a better idea, let me know.
Next blog: Neighborhood photos. If you are following along on the challenge, take photos in your neighborhood and post 3 of the best to my Facebook page or email me: email@example.com/blog.
